Kathmandu Metropolitan City Opens Online Applications for Grade 11

KATHMANDU, May 13, 2026

The Education Department of Kathmandu Metropolitan City has officially opened the online application portal for scholarship selection for students seeking admission to Grade 11. This initiative is in line with the 'KMC Education Regulation 2017,' which requires institutional schools to provide scholarships to at least 10% of their total student body.

Eligible students can submit their applications through the official KMC website. Applicants are required to upload necessary documents, including their Grade 10 admit card, SEE results (once published), character certificates, and valid proof for reserved categories (such as low-income status, indigenous identity, or certificates for students from public schools).

According to KMC, the scholarships will be awarded based on a competitive entrance examination followed by a merit-based matching process. Scholarships are available across various streams, including Science, Management, Humanities, Law, and Education. The date and venues for the examination will be announced following the completion of the application phase. KMC officials emphasized that this centralized exam ensures transparency and provides a fair opportunity for talented and underprivileged students to study at prestigious private institutions.
