March-3 ,Dhangadhi- A violent clash broke out between two groups in Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City-13, Kailali, during the Holi festival celebrations. According to preliminary investigations, the conflict ignited while the participants were playing Holi and had consumed significant amounts of alcohol. What began as a festive gathering quickly escalated into a physical brawl fueled by intoxication, creating a chaotic environment in the local community.
To bring the situation under control and disperse the aggressive mob, the police were forced to fire six rounds in the air. During the intervention, the crowd turned their aggression toward the security forces, resulting in injuries to two police officers: Inspector Balram Pandey and Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Dabal Saud. Both officers are currently receiving medical attention. Following the incident, police successfully restored order and took 12 individuals into custody for their involvement in the riot. Further investigation is ongoing to identify others who may have played a role in the disturbance.
