March 4, Kavrepalanchowk. One person has died after a bus collided with a scooter in Sindhuli. The accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon on the BP Highway near Hirapani, Kamalamai Municipality-4, Sindhuli. The deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Chandra Shrestha, a resident of Golanjyor Rural Municipality-3, who was riding the scooter.
According to SP Laldhowj Subedi, Chief of the District Police Office, the collision took place between a bus (Ba 4 Kha 3894) heading from Kathmandu towards Marin and a scooter (Ja 10 Pa 923) traveling from Sindhuli towards Chiyabari. The scooter rider was critically injured in the crash.
He was immediately rushed to the Sindhuli District Hospital for treatment, where doctors pronounced him dead.
The bus involved in the accident and its driver, 41-year-old Rajkumar Majhi of Hariharpurgadhi Rural Municipality-5, are currently in the custody of the District Police Office, Sindhuli. Police stated that further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
