At least 12 people sustained injuries when a Bolero jeep (Ga 1 Cha 5213) met with an accident at Sundarpani in Aathbiskot Municipality-9, Rukum West. The vehicle, en route from Radi Bazaar to Maidanda, reportedly slammed into a roadside cliff along the inner road section on Tuesday evening.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bed Bahadur Paudel of the District Police Office, the injured are currently undergoing treatment at the Radi Municipal Hospital. Among them, Jasi Damai (45), Bhupendra Satyal (16), and Mahendra Gaire (23) are reported to be in critical condition. Other victims include residents from wards 8, 9, and 10 of Aathbiskot Municipality.
The driver, 26-year-old Narendra BK of Sanibheri Rural Municipality-4, absconded immediately after the crash, and a police search is underway. The vehicle owner, Hari Bahadur Gaire, is in contact with the authorities. Preliminary investigations suggest the jeep lost control on the narrow track before hitting the hillside.
